Coordinated Entry
Coordinated Entry
Bethesda House plays an important leadership role in Schenectady County's Coordinated Entry system, helping connect individuals and families experiencing homelessness with appropriate housing opportunities and supportive services. Coordinated Entry is a collaborative, community-wide process designed to help people navigate the homeless services system and improve access to available housing resources.
Through this process, individuals experiencing homelessness are assessed to better understand their circumstances, barriers to housing, and level of need. This information helps guide referrals and supports efforts to connect people with appropriate housing interventions and services. Coordinated Entry also promotes a more consistent approach to identifying housing needs, coordinating referrals, and helping ensure that limited resources are directed toward individuals who need them most.
Bethesda House works closely with CARES of NY, the local Continuum of Care lead agency, and other community partners to support this process. Our involvement includes facilitating access to the system, supporting assessments and referrals, coordinating information, and helping individuals understand their options as they work toward housing stability. Because every person's circumstances are different, this work requires communication, collaboration, and an understanding of the challenges that can make securing housing difficult.
Coordinated Entry is an essential part of the community's broader response to homelessness. By working together, local agencies can better identify unmet needs, coordinate available resources, and strengthen pathways from homelessness to permanent housing. Bethesda House remains committed to this collaborative effort and to ensuring that individuals experiencing homelessness are treated with dignity and connected with opportunities to achieve greater stability and independence.
