Our Social Work team works cohesively with Case Management to address guests with severe, persistent, and untreated mental illness. Our team facilitates care coordination and expertise navigation of the mental health system

46% of adults are dually diagnosed with severe mental illness and substance abuse disorders
At Bethesda House, an estimated 90% in the Emergency Overnight Shelter suffer from mental illness
Services offered under our social work team include:
- Mental health and substance abuse treatment
- Transportation to and from medical appointments
- Connection to appropriate community resources
- Drug and alcohol assessments/screens referred by Schenectady County Department of Social Services (DSS)
- Coordination of medical and behavioral health services through Health Home Program
